Greetings Earth Pilgrim, I warmly welcome you to Letters From The Wilderness. This newsletter was born in 2021 from the deep yearning to have:: the stories of the time I lived like a nomad wandering the desert:: a home to live in. Like all creations, Letters From the Wilderness took shape of its own and it has evolved to become a written documentary experiment of my experience of being human courting the healing magic that arises in relating with the natural world, a multimedia shape-shifting project, a reflection of my interiors, a space to share my voice freely, including stories, practices, and the medicine I’ve reaped from being in relationship with both the wild that exists outside and inside myself.

My hope is that Letters From The Wilderness be a sacred invitation - an incantation- and inspiration for you to spend more time in the wilderness, to get to know the land you’re on, and the more-than-human beings that you share the environment with, to connect more profoundly with nature and to get in touch with the good animal that you are. Beneath all the programming and conditioning I know they are still in there waiting to be unearthed and set free to run with the wolves. If you’re already pretty wild yourself and recognize your place within this grand web of life allow for this newsletter to be a reverent nod, or a bow to your earth spirit. Thank you for all that you are and all that you do, thank you for being here!

As of Fall 2023, I am no longer wandering the desert like a nomad with adolescents in adventure therapy. My quest now is to carry the wisdom and medicine of these past years and translate it into the urban landscape of the Bay Area as I continue moulding myself as a wounded healer at CIIS. Pollinators know well, this task is not a simple one but essential in applying this work in urbanized spaces with city folk yearning to deepen their connection with our Animate Earth. At this moment Integration and Incorporation is the name of the game which is probably the most crucial component of any transformative peak experience. That being said when you read Letters From The Wilderness understand I now find myself in a different kind of cement wilderness, equally as wild nonetheless, and as you read the upcoming letters you can imagine a wild earth spirit in a human body traversing city life trying to hold on to her wilderness within and attempting to cross pollinate the medicine she’s reaped with those she comes in contact with.
